FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

THE LOOKS

Why don't I see "Highlights" or "Balayage" on your service menu?

I pride myself on how custom each of my guest's hair is. Each look fits the guest's personality, lifestyle, and hair goals. Because of this, I am frequently using 3-6 techniques on each person. I may use highlights, babylights, and balayage on you in the same visit to achieve your custom look! All of my "Looks" are based off of how much blonding OR dimension you want in your hair. Head to www.epstudiosalon.com/services to see a description of each Look!

What are "The Looks"

I never use one technique on someone's hair. I never do simply "highlights" or "balayge" on someone, and I have found that having to know the difference between booking a "highlight" or a "balayage" gets really confusing. My main services are labeled as "looks" because then that gives me the freedom to create a plan with you for your hair to get the look you want with whichever techniques I need to use. For example, if you want a blended balayage but you want some dimension right around your part and face, I'm likely going to use three different techniques: balayage, highlights and babylights. There is no one size fits all for me, so I go by time blocks so that we can customize your hair to you!

How do I know which look to book?

Easy! You have two options; take the QUIZ by clicking HERE, or contacting me to chat about what look is best for you. Simply put, the Looks go from Quick to Full in order of how much dimension, brightness, or how blonde you want to be. The Quick Look is the simplest, quickest appointment, usually used for maintenance between partial or full look appointments. It covers right around your face where you see it the most. The Mini Look is similar to a Quick Look, but it adds around your part line as well to give you a look of a lot more coverage without doing a ton of work. Great to book alone or as a maintenance appointment. The Partial Look is up to 40% of your hair. An example of this (but not the only possibility) is a multi-dimensional balayage that leaves part of your natural throughout the ends of your hair. The Full Look is the whole package. This is great for a lot of blonde, or bright pieces and darker pieces added in. A good example of this is a balayage that is mostly blonde, and has little to no natural at the ends. Whichever look you book, you will walk away feeling amazing!

COVID-19

What are your COVID-19 Policies?

UPDATED AS OF 6/2/21 As Utah County has now dropped the mask mandate and I have been fully vaccinated, I am having each guest customize their experience in the salon. I will mirror you-if you're not wearing a mask and are comfortable with me not wearing one, I won't wear one either. If you come in with a mask I will happily wear one for the duration of your appointment. All strict sanitation procedures will stay in place. Here at E.P. Studio, I want you to always feel comfortable and safe. Here's what I'm doing to keep everyone safe as we navigate these times: At the salon, I am: • Open for regular hours, scheduling extra time in-between guests to fully disinfect and sanitize the salon • Disinfecting high touch surfaces regularly • Providing hand sanitizer in the salon, plus restrooms to wash hands across the hall •I ask you to please reschedule your appointment if you have: -have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, -have any symptoms (not just COVID-19 related, even just mild cold symptoms) -have been around anyone that has been sick

Are you vaccinated?

I am fully vaccinated and am very strict about the sanitation in my room.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Do I have to fill out the form to book a new appointment?

To give you the best experience possible, I do require all new guests to fill out my digital consultation form prior to booking. This quick and easy form allows me to make sure that at your first visit we have enough time scheduled to hit our goals for the day. If you're not sure what you want or are still confused about the process, please email me at emily@epstudiosalon.com or book an in-person consultation instead where we can discuss your hair goals, budget, ideal maintenance schedule and more!

Do I have to have my picture taken?

No, absolutely not! I love taking photos of my guests, for you to have to show off how amazing you look, and for my social media! I typically do standard before/after photos, plus for all of my "look" appointments, I do a mini photoshoot as well. You can opt out of this with no worries from me, or you can modify the way we take them (no photos of your face, waist up, etc) depending on what your comfort level is. This is just a fun thing I do to add to the experience at E.P. Studio, but I will never force you to take photos with me and I will not post pictures without your prior permission.

What should I wear?

You can expect to have photos taken of you at your appointment, so wear something you'd be comfortable taking photos in! If you want to dress up, fantastic! I love it and we can have a ton of fun with your photos. If you want to dress more comfortably, feel free as well and we can take photos to your comfort level. Whichever is your preference!

THE STUDIO

What is your specialty?

I am a "Low-Maintenance Color Specialist". I specialize in creating effortless hair for busy people that lasts between appointments. Not many people have time to go to the salon every 6-8 weeks anymore, and so I've spent over 10,000 hours in continued education honing in my technique in order to create the most customized plan that fits your personality, lifestyle, goals and budget. If you're looking for hair that looks good from the day you walk out of the salon to the day you come back (usually 3-6 months later, depending on our plan!), you've found your salon home.

Where are you located?

My salon is located at the Riverwoods in Provo, Utah. Once at the Riverwoods, head inside the Riverwoods Salon Suites and I'm in Suite 6, halfway down the hall.

How do I get to your salon?

The easiest way to get to the salon if you're coming from I-15 is to take the Orem Center Street exit and head east off the exit. Follow Center Street all the way up until you see Edgewood Dr, and turn left. Take your first right into the parking lot (same parking lot that has the Roxberry). You'll see Bath and Body works, and the Riverwoods Salon Suites is next door! Head inside and I'm in Suite 6, about halfway down the hall.
